The Orquesta Sinfónica de Castilla y León has unveiled its program for the 2025–2026 season, marking the fourth season of Thierry Fischer as Chief Conductor. Under his leadership, the orchestra will embark on a tour to the Netherlands, including a return performance at the prestigious Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. The season also includes concerts in A Coruña as part of an exchange with the Galicia Symphony Orchestra, and a performance in Madrid within the esteemed Scherzo Foundation series.

A highlight of the season will be the conclusion of Fischer’s Beethoven symphony cycle, culminating in a monumental performance of the Ninth Symphony. The repertoire offers a broad spectrum from Romantic and late-Romantic works by Mahler, Brahms, and Sibelius to Spanish and French composers such as Albéniz, Rodrigo, Berlioz, Debussy, and Ravel.

Additionally, the season will feature the world premiere of a new piano concerto by Francisco Coll, performed by acclaimed pianist Kirill Gerstein.

OSCyL also presents new artists-in-residence, Kirill Gerstein and Pablo Ferrández—two internationally acclaimed musicians with whom the orchestra will collaborate with on several occasions. The associate conductors, Elim Chan and Vasily Petrenko, also play an important role in the orchestra’s continued development. Kahchun Wong, Marc Albrecht, Gemma New, Masaaki Suzuki, Katharina Wincor, and the Spaniard José Trigueros complete a line-up of conductors with diverse backgrounds and perspectives. During the 2025-2026 season the orchestra welcomes soloists of the highest calibre, such as Magdalena Kožená, Rafael Aguirre, Javier Perianes, Marina Heredia, Simone Lamsma, Behzod Abduraimov, Esther Yoo, Alexander Gavrylyuk, Pablo Barragán, Daniel Lozakovich, and OSCyL’s own horn soloist, José M. Asensi.
